About Doris

Doris was a graduate teacher who worked a few years in the educational field before deciding to make a career switch. She was inspired to make a positive difference in life and was fascinated by the complexity of the human mind and diversity. She is passionate about engaging in meaningful work where she can help people and significantly impact others. That motivated her to embark on the journey into the world of mental health, which led her to pursue a Master’s degree in counselling at Monash University, where she has received rigorous supervision and training.

Doris has worked with clients who struggle with social anxiety, parental stress, depression, grief and loss, cultural adaptation, LGBTQ issues, insomnia and other general mental health issues. Doris has successfully guided clients to build confidence, motivate their self-awareness, and activate their coping mechanisms to manage their life challenges.

She employs integrative approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person-Centred, Mindfulness-based, and Psychodynamic Therapy. During her sessions, she builds a good rapport with the client and helps clients gain insights and shift their mindsets. It is heartening for her to witness clients’ significant improvement in their life challenges.

She believes that her prior work experience in the educational field formed her to be listening and desire to be there for others. In the future, Doris aspires to continue developing her knowledge and gain more extraordinary experience in the field of mental health to support people in achieving their personal goals and enhance their well-being.
