About Rebecca Chee
Rebecca is a counsellor and strong advocate for mental well-being who believes that therapy should be as insightful as it is empowering. She holds a Masters in Counselling and a Graduate Certificate in Education Studies from Monash University, and is a SAC Provisional Clinical Member. She takes an integrative, evidence-based approach to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges, and has experience working with youths, young adults, couples, and neurodivergent individuals.
Rebecca employs collaborative, strengths-based methods during therapy, helping clients gain clarity, confidence, and actionable coping strategies. She uses a mix of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), and Narrative Therapy, tailoring interventions to suit each client’s personality, needs, and goals.
Her counselling experience also spans mental health outreach and crisis support through volunteering as a helpline care officer, where she provides real-time emotional assistance and psychological first aid to young individuals in distress. Her volunteer journey has included mental health education and screening for seniors and students, which allowed her to build meaningful connections with people from all walks of life. Her commitment to inclusivity extends to her involvement with the special needs community, where she interacts closely with children on the autism spectrum, helping them build social skills, and develop emotional regulation and self-confidence through structured interventions and adaptive learning techniques.
Besides her roles in counselling and the social service sector, Rebecca brings a rich and diverse background to her work as a counsellor, drawing on a decade of expertise in media production, marketing, and business development, where she managed international projects and campaigns.
With a naturally warm, engaging, and witty presence, Rebecca
creates a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel heard and supported. She feels that everyone is the author of their own story, and that therapy can help them rewrite the chapters they feel stuck in. Through a nurturing and compassionate practice, she walks alongside clients to unravel life’s complexities, one conversation at a time.
Rebecca is LGBTQIA+ affirmative and works with individuals who may be dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, as well as relationship or family concerns.
She is fluent in English and speaks Chinese.
