About Shakti
Shakti is a veteran Clinical Psychologist who have practiced across various mental health setting. She is also an experienced couples therapist and marriage counsellor, applying Gottman Method and Minuchin approaches to help with relationship concerns. She is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist (Rehabilitation Council of India), Full Member of Singapore Psychological Society (MSPS), and a Graduate Member with British Psychological Society (GMBPsS) with experience in hospitals and mental health facilities. Specifically treating mood disorders such as anxiety and depression, as well as personality disorders such as borderline personality disorder or narcisstic personality disorders.
Have been responsible for diagnosis, treatment, and follow-ups of patients with large gamut of psychiatric illnesses. Areas of expertise include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Depression, Anxiety and other behavioral issues, evaluation of Learning Disabilities and special needs in children and adults, providing individual and group psychotherapy.
I have been a practicing Clinical Psychologist since 2013 with diverse experience in diagnosing and evaluating Psychological and emotional disorders of varied age group. I have had the opportunity to work with various reputed hospitals and mental health facilities. Working with children as well as youth is my expertise as I have worked in paediatric hospitals, helping the children deal with various emotional, behavioural as well as academic issues to help them lead a more fulfilling life.
My therapeutic approach consists of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Positive Psychotherapy, Play Therapy, Art Therapy, Schema Therapy and Psychodynamic approaches.
I am experienced in handling clients with anxiety, depression, anger management, body image issues, eating disorders, post operative stress, developmental trauma in kids, ADHD, autism spectrum, family, borderline personality disorders, narcissitic personality disorders, and relationships. I am trained to do assessments related to IQ Testing, Learning Disability, and personality profiling.
I am also experienced in relationship counselling and therapy, LGBTQ+ related concerns, addictions, cyberwellness concerns, and sexual trauma.
For a year I have worked as a Freelance Content Writer with an Australian Firm where I was responsible for developing training material for graduate and undergraduate courses related to Disability, Organizational Psychology and Child Psychology. This experience has equally made me passionate about writing as I am working with my clients to help them in a meaningful way using my skills and knowledge.
