About William
William Chia is a registered clinical psychologist with professional experience providing psychological assessment and evidence-based psychological interventions for adults presenting with a range of mental health and emotional difficulties. His clinical experience includes working within Singapore’s primary healthcare setting, where he has supported individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, trauma-related difficulties, adjustment concerns, interpersonal challenges, and other psychological concerns.
William adopts a warm, collaborative, and person-centred approach to therapy. He believes that effective psychological work goes beyond simply managing symptoms—it involves creating a safe space for individuals to understand themselves, make sense of their experiences, and develop healthier ways of relating to themselves and others.
His therapeutic approach draws from evidence-based psychological therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)-informed approaches. His work is also informed by trauma-sensitive principles, with attention to how past experiences can shape present emotions, relationships, beliefs, and coping patterns.

Therapeutic Approach
William sees therapy as a collaborative process rather than a one-size-fits-all treatment. He takes time to understand each individual’s experiences, personal context, strengths and goals before working together to develop an appropriate therapeutic direction.
His aim is to provide a space where clients can feel heard without judgement, understood without being labelled, and supported while developing greater psychological flexibility and self-understanding.
Ultimately, William hopes to help individuals move from simply getting through difficult periods to developing a more meaningful and sustainable way of living.
